Where Tradition
Meets Belonging
Agomoni St. Louis brings together Bengali families across Missouri and Illinois to celebrate heritage, faith, and friendship — from the autumn beats of Durga Puja to the spring melodies of Saraswati Puja.
“To preserve, share, and celebrate the living culture of Bengal — its music, traditions and warmth — and to build a welcoming home for every family who calls St. Louis home.”Our Mission
Who we are
Agomoni-STL is a community-driven cultural organization dedicated to celebrating Bengali heritage, fostering a sense of belonging, and building bridges through culture, service, and shared traditions. We bring people together through festivals, arts, education, philanthropy, and community engagement, creating a welcoming space where traditions are honored, new generations are inspired, and diverse communities connect.
Through cultural enrichment and meaningful service, we strive not only to preserve our heritage but to strengthen community bonds and contribute positively to the broader society we call home.
Festivals we celebrate together
From the autumn beats of Durga Puja to the spring melodies of Saraswati Puja, our calendar marks the year with the rhythms of Bengali tradition.
Durga Puja
Our flagship four-day festival — pushpanjali, sandhya aarti, dhunuchi naach, bhog and a feast of cultural performances by the community.
Diwali
An evening of diyas and Lakshmi Puja followed by a Diwali get-together — sweets, lights and stories that bridge generations.
Saraswati Puja
Children offer their first books, students seek the goddess of learning's blessing, and the community shares khichuri and labra.
Borshoboron
Welcoming the Bengali new year (Poila Boishakh) with song, poetry and a community meal — a fresh start celebrated together.
